Where Dreams Meet the Business of Writing

A2Z-BADGE [2016]

The old adage ‘When one door closes, another one opens’ holds true for me as a writer also.

When one story, query, proposal or poem is rejected, another opportunity presents itself.

One door shutting is only temporary. Windows fly open. Other doors spring open.

The possibilities are endless.

I see places to present my work.

Friends share avenues full of opportunity.

I stumble across contests, editors, and publications.

It is no accident. The universe supplies me with unlimited opportunities.

I am open and receptive.

Opportunities to submit my work and my words abound.

I am open and see the possibilities.

  1. Lovely affirmations filled with possibilities. Thank you.

  2. It’s funny because I was repeating the ‘one door closes, another door opens’ as a mantra (while I wait and fret over an upcoming Twitter agent/editor pitch event). *bites nails* No, I’m calm. I got this.

Thanks for this wonderful post. I needed to read it. 🙂

    • I’m glad some of this was helpful for you.
And best of luck on the Twitter agent’editor pitch event! I’ll be rooting for you.

  3. Great post. I wanted to write about opportunity but just couldn’t muster the positivity!
